Thursday, May 14, 2015 - It has been quite awhile since I tried one of these bottles (see 10/22/12 note). This wine lost some hard tannic edges since then. It is a traditionally styled St-Emilion from an outstanding vintage. There is a lot going on in the glass. Slightly cloudy deep, dark ruby. Nose of plum, leather, and earth. Medium palate of rich, silky fruit: plum, cassis, blackberry. Excellent length. Subtle notes of underbrush, tea, and cedar. Refreshing acidity. Fermented to dryness (this is not a negative). The grippy tannins have faded since my last taste.
