Friday, July 31, 2015 - Lovely perfume with lychee, rose water, some orange, and a gewurz spice side coming out along with its receding fruit prominence of 3 years ago. There is a sense of lightness to it that is literally and figuratively refreshing. This is less heavy than my previous bottle a few years back. Bright and fresh especially for Gewurz. More lychee, roses, spice, and some mandarin orange preserves on the palate with some cool herbal undertones. There is a sense of some RS, but I am not sure if this is just phenolic ripeness of the variety. Nonetheless this perceived sweetness really rounds this out beautifully. This wine has a cool balance of contrasts where its textural density couples beautifully with its acidity and hint of sugar. It is deep yet light, and still quite fresh and mouthwatering, but still very long on the back end. I again made the mistake of not having some washed rind cheese to eat with this. Drinking beautifully now. 90 pts
