Monday, August 24, 2015 - Plenty going on here with baking spice, blackberry jam and smoky notes on the nose. The ripe black fruit on the palate shows promising notes of olive and leather underneath, but is tainted somewhat by intrusive sweet oak that also imparts a bitterness. To add to that there are some slightly unpleasant perfumed characteristics. The meat juice flavors on the finish would normally add interest, but in this case just adds more confusion.
