Monday, September 7, 2015 - Gosh, this is in a great spot. Been following this wine since day one when it was a syrupy fruit bomb. Now it's totally streamlined, the baby fat almost all gone to reveal a surprisingly feminine figure underneath. The stemmy signature that was here on release is pretty much all absorbed too. Yet the fruit is vibrantly fresh even right out of the gate, with bright raspberry and zingy wild berry flavors and just a hint of iron. Whatever structure is left in this is nicely smoothed out under the fruit. The presentation is much developed over the years, but still objectively youthful. What makes it such a pleasure today is how easygoing it is to drink, a real comfort wine with a polished texture and lipsmackingly tasty fruit.
