Saturday, September 19, 2015 - This is awesome. Powerful, rich dark berry and plummy fruit with a slight chocolately edge that shows the Merlot (25%) influence, framed by complex mint, cedar, graphite and gravel notes. The structure is there but in the background and the balance is perfect, especially when paired with a good steak. Perhaps not the most dense or lush MB vintage but also not the most austere, this doesn't lack material or concentration, and with food the extract becomes even more weightless and floats across the palate, with the fruit/chocolate/gravel flavors beautifully integrated and long. Absolutely gorgeous.

I remember tasting this two or three years ago and thinking it was still quite backward, but this bottle was much more relaxed and open. As good as any vintage of MB I've had, I think. Hard to imagine it improving much on this showing with more age, although with the track record here it should last for at least another decade.
