Wednesday, November 11, 2015 - 2 hour decant. 11.5% - Bairrada. Bottle 4384.
Once in a while I see these lonely, old, barely labelled bottles in the corner of a shop, so I buy them to put them out of their misery - and you never know.
Red with a little bricking - thin, elegant legs - not much in the nose, maybe some blackcurrant - thin and light and lively - surprisingly youthful - somewhat acid, but a nice background note of cherries - edgy - long finish.
On the back above the signature of Snr Maia there's talk (I translate) of "making a wine of which we can be proud for its authenticity and quality" - mission accomplished!
