Thursday, December 17, 2015 - Intense dark ruby color. Anise, clove and leather on the nose. Excellent balance and mouth feet with perhaps just a touch too much acidity. Dark fruit, almost overripe. Leather. Good tannic structure but not overpowering. Long, pleasant finish. This bottle would have kept for at least a few more years but how can you tell with a NV?

We bought this at the winery on Seneca Lake in the FLX. Not sure the grapes could have come from the FLX. Too full and big bodied. The label lists it as a New York State wine so it's possible the grapes came from Long Island. Most Finger Lakes wines use the Finger Lakes or individual lake appellation.
