Friday, January 22, 2016 - Unpleasantly astringent after popping, a quick 30m decant worked it wonders. Out came a nose of fennel, leather, eucalyptus, tobacco, iron, and very rich, ripe, dark fruit. No doubt the old vines made some good soup. Longish finish brings smoke and spice. Big but beautiful. Or maybe I'm just biased because it's $20, and I feel I'm getting away with something.
