Sunday, January 31, 2016 - Open one day. Very dark Crimson, still opaque. Extremely viscous. Nose is very fruited with blackberries and cassis aromas that jump from the glass. Big wine in the mouth, full-bodied and classy. Tannins have been tamed but still present, dark fruit and earth. Good acid backbone gives balance. Bones on a long time, with real presence. Another ten years is not a bad guess when this will be fully rounded and at its most complex. One of the relatively few '05s I've had, this makes me want to try more. 5-13-16-8: 92/100.
