Thursday, February 11, 2016 - Tre Bicchieri (San Francisco): Moderate minus concentration ruby with garnet at the rim. High alcohol with just moderate acid, high tannins. Powerful and structured with dark fruit and some oak influence. Like a Barolo but a bit more hefty (and lower acid). Fruit character doesn’t scream Sagrantino to me - it’s lighter than the Paolo Bea wines. Still, I like this. 8.5-9.
