Thursday, March 3, 2016 - This is a blend of 80% Chenin, balance 13% Clariette Blanch and Viognier. Wood fermented in old french oak. There is one new 2000 L foudre. So technically its got some new wood.
The blend: clariette ripens early and adds a nuttiness. The viognier ripens very late but is very highly alcoholic but is peachy. The viognier never gets to be more than 7% because it will take over.
That is layered: nutty, peach, with minerality on the nose. A complex interaction. Palate is again big, but almost has some tannin on it. That thing is structured and powerful. And finishes on that nutty sensation.
That is a darn serious wine.
