Deeper colour and a more oily consistency than the Auslese 2004; sweet and ripe style for a Prüm Spätlese, consistent with the warm vintage, fruit of sweet peach with tropical notes, pure and intense, hint of blackcurrant leaf, ripe citrus, drinking well already, even if the fleshy fruit still seems to obscure the ripe acidity and the mineral core of slate, good but not exceptional length. Should have the balance to age well and to gain in elegance and finesse over the next 10-15 years.
