Saturday, May 21, 2016 - Drinking extremely well right now - a beautiful, softening, complex, mature and balanced Napa cab from a very reputable vineyard and given how well it is drinking right now this wine is quite a good QPR at our price point. Decanted for about 30 minutes at the Red Stag in Asheville NC and this paired beautifully with both a locally grown and grass fed rib eye steak and elk loin. Dark purple, now medium bodied, excellent mouth feel, very well balanced with soft but still present tannins, no off tones at all and a reasonably long aftertaste. Mature and peaked - I recommend drinking up holdings within the next 1-2 years. Soft muted but complex nose of oak, plum, blueberry and a hint of burnt sugar and well balanced very classic primary flavors of osk, plum, cassis and later on the palate more warm earth and almost chocolatey notes. Definitely recommend this wine.
