Sunday, June 26, 2016 - The Moino Cru are where they excel, but their style of winemaking sadly compromises the integrity of the vineyard's terroir and makes these a major pass for me. This is a big wine, but that is the Monlino style; BIG. Over-extracted fruit, discombobulated alcohol and relentless tannin, which is about the only thing that reminds me this is Nebbiolo. Molino is a good gateway producer to get new-world drinkers in to old-world wines, but given the price/value of this and the lack of typicity of the area, this is something to pass on.
