Sunday, June 26, 2016 - 2014 Trio Release Dinner - June 2016: This was reason enough to make the trip out to Pokolbin on a 3 degree night. It showed up all of the '14 and '06 trio wines on the table, and it's not due for release for another year or two. This is a simplistic, yet compelling wine, especially for its age. Warm oak greets you into a medium bodied shiraz, showing an array of red berries with some purple fruits around the edges. This is spotlessly clean and has an astounding finish. On the way home I was still savouring it, comparing against classic graveyard vintages. Yep, it was that good. Bloody amazing, actually.
