90 Points

Tuesday, August 16, 2016 - All we are saying, is Give Temp a Chance. Decanted 1 hr. ahead, off of some light but pleasantly surprising sediment. Very deep garnet with a bit of copper/brick in there. Very nice nose of hard spices, black cherries, woody notes, black and white pepper. Fairly full-bodied on the palate, with a rich texture that's made richer by the smoothed-out (but not flabby) acids. Finishes well, with just a hint of drying, dusty tannins. I waited for a couple of years on this wine, and it has pretty much vindicated my hopes. It's fragrant, smooth, and rich. And I think it was about $21.
