Monday, October 24, 2016 - Pooled inky purple-black in decanter. Macerated dark fruit and flinty understated cherry nose; long legs with jammy dried fruit palate (raisin/plum with a touch of maybe...fig?). Lower ABV and less sweet in character than the 2010. Medium finish with strong, yet roundish tannins to carry this forward. This is evolving nicely and its Howell Mountain fruit far outshines most Napa Valley floor offerings from this tough weather vintage.
