Sunday, October 30, 2016 - Purple color. Brooding nose of black currant, damp cellar, faint floral notes, rich earth, pencil shavings. Even after 90 minutes the palate was deeply imploded, with eventual layers of blackberry, currant, licorice, and earth. Lower acidity, smoothed tannin. Longer finish of stone and black fruit. Needs more time in the cellar or a healthy decant. Powerful wine.
