Saturday, November 5, 2016 - Smith Haute Lafitte Vertical 2003, 2004, 2005 (New York): Medium body. More purple in color than the '03 (less oxidized) and medium(+) acidity. Tannins not as mature with a little astringency to them. Upon opening, it had the most pronounced nose, but it dropped off quickly. I noticed a touch of Brett on the first taste, but it dissipated over time. Otherwise a similar flavor profile to the '03. Over time this bottle lost power in exactly the opposite direction of the '03. It's like it fell off a cliff.
