Tuesday, January 24, 2017 - Fairly simple and slightly tannic yet, but is probably still a bargain for $18. Definitely improved over an hour+ of decanting, even if not by that much.
1/25/2017 6:15:00 AM - If you hold this for 3+ years you'll be pleasantly surprised. 2008 has peaked I think; 2007 and 2009 are drinking great. 2010 doing well too. I don't have any older, but other than the relatively weak 2008 all of the other vintages I've had are going strong.
1/25/2017 8:40:00 AM - Thanks, sleepyhaus. Your experience is broadly consistent with mine. For example, many good 2010 chiantis are only now starting to become approachable, in my opinion. I was curious if this one is stylistically different, etc. So thanks for chiming in!
