Sunday, February 12, 2017 - Double-decanted 6h prior. Excellent fruit and spice on the nose. Complex dark fruits on the palate with spice persisting. Totally integrated vanillic oak and good balance of acidity. A good partner to a slow-cooked shoulder of lamb.
Good next day. This was served with a Palacio Glorioso Reserva 2008. Interestingly, the Glorioso was the more attractive wine when they were first opened but the Riscal showed its true qualities after 6 -24 hours and rather eclipsed the Glorioso. Will develop further, I think.
