Saturday, February 18, 2017 - Classic toasty and doughy nose consistent with past bottles, but this bottle was more oxidized and generally more tired than prior examples. Palate had lost more effervescence than good bottles have and showed deep toasty cereal grains and oxidization. Even when the bottle isn't perfect this is still a pretty enjoyable wine. '96 served next smoked this tonight though. Bottle from the same source as Nov 2016 which was excellent.
