Monday, May 1, 2017 - I tasted this over the course of dinner, about 2 hours. The oak seemed present here initially, but not through vanilla or coconut, but instead with a spicy, glossy, toasty note and texture it seemed to impart to the wine. Alongside these notes, there was very solid acidity and pear. Overall, the wine just was a bit aggressive and heavier for me. I will say with air that this did pick up some more mineral tones, less oak imprint but nothing to retaste the following day so I will leave my note as written.
