It reminded me of nothing so much as a Chermette Cuvee Traditionelle Beaujolais, which in my book is high praise indeed. There is a lightness on the palate and a brightness to the decidedly red fruit that characterizes our favorite non-Cru Beaujolais (though it veers more to the Chermette side than the JP Brun side).
