94 Points

Thursday, April 20, 2017 - A tasting with Emmanuel Rouget (Flagey-Echézeaux): An expressive, alluring nose of wood smoke, wild black fruit and violets, already integrating with lots of high quality new oak; a chassis of fine and enrobed tannins which will probably assert itself after bottling but which is the background today; until, that is, the finish, which hints at things to come. From seventy-year-old vines, with a finished alcohol of 14.2 %.
