Friday, August 11, 2017 - Absolutely stunning. Right in its drinking window right now, We've had several '07 BC reds lately and they have been showing very well. The bouquet filled the room as I decanted. Dark red fruits with herbs and leather. Aromatics carried thru on the palate but it was the silky tannins and medium-plus body that was so satisfying. Friends grilled two beef tomahawks served with caramelized shallots and gorgonzola. Really impressive red - complexity, intensity and integral balance. Opened the friends' '08 Portfolio next which wasn't ready yet and was a bit out of balance.
