Wednesday, March 19, 2008 - Purchased bottle from winery after tasting. Good 2+ hours in wide-base decanter prior evaluation. Get blackberry dark fruit and graphite/slate-wet stone mineral aspects on the generous nose; also raisins. This is very very chewy raisins and blackberry fruit on the palate. Smooth and fruity, but dried fruit not fresh. The finish is excellent with a good length and nice mineral notes on the tail-end. I think wine spectator is way off on their 2005 scoring; perhaps this wine has matured since their meager 83 assessment.
