Thursday, March 27, 2008 - Is there anything sillier than decanting a $6 bottle of wine. I did it anyway and it definitely helped. Color is a somewhat pale. Nose has some cherry fruit combined with a smokey bacon fat component along with black pepper. The heat of this wine is evident on the nose. I don't have much to complain about really except for the heat. There's the red berry fruit up front with a spicy/peppery mid palate and tannic finish. I mean, $6? I've had some southern rhones at $20 that have been worse (not many though).
