92 Points

Wednesday, October 18, 2017 - Well made, balanced, concentrated wine. But, 99 PT’s from Jeb is just silly - this wine is nowhere near 99 and reduces my confidence in his ratings.

10/18/2017 1:54:00 PM - Thanks for the note - I've always enjoyed the enthusiasm in Dunnuck's writing, but his scores trend towards the high side. Did you think the wine was ready to drink now, or did it need more time?

10/18/2017 2:01:00 PM - funny you should ask... i met Eric Jensen (the owner/winemaker) about 3 years ago and he told me that he doesn't think wine should be aged bc it doesn't get better with time. i disagree (mostly) with that comment, but it makes me wonder if he is making wines that are intended for the short term rather than aging. for this wine, i decanted and drank over a few hours and i thought it was "ready" bc of the decant, although i would say it was early in it's drinking window - to my palate i would drink over the next 5 years or so.

10/18/2017 5:28:00 PM - Side note, that review was under WA's jurisdiction, where I think you're contractually obligated to add at least five points to every score. Will be interesting to see if his scores come back to earth now that he's no longer shilling for them.
