Tuesday, October 24, 2017 - I previously rated this a 94. What a big difference from last bottle I had 10 months ago. Perhaps this is in a dumb phase? The fruit forwardness was gone and there was some bitterness mid palate. If I really "chewed" on it I could get the underlying fruit and depth of flavors to show themselves. I think the fruit has laid down a little sooner than the tannins and that perhaps this wine just needs a little time to re-integrate and come back into balance. If it does, this could turn into a regal, nuanced beauty. Will wait a while before revisiting.

10/25/2017 4:29:00 PM - Nice note - I recently had a similar experience. However, I had another bottle around a month ago and gave it a fairly long 5 hour decant and it showed really well. Drank it next to a 2014 Carter Beckstoffer OG and the Kenefick held its own. I'm going to let the other bottles lay down for another 6 months before I revisit but I'll still probably give it a fairly long decant to play it safe. Take care.
