Friday, October 20, 2017 - 2017 New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/16/2017-10/25/2017 (New York City, NY): The '07 iteration of Monte Bello is yet another home run for Ridge. A deep ruby blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc, it delivers dark bramble fruits, exotic spices, tobacco, minerals and bay leaf in a full-bodied, freshly acidic frame. The tannins are substantial but, like the wine's alcohol and oak, are nicely integrated. Dense on the mid-palate and finishing long, this is a structured, classic-quality offering. Believe it or not, this needs additional time in the cellar in order to fully strut its stuff. Drink 2022-2040.

11/4/2017 10:23:00 AM - I opened one of these about six months ago after reading positive reviews but I found it way to young and primary for my tastes. Don't plain to open another for 3-5 years.
