Saturday, November 18, 2017 - First time trying Troplong Mondot. Opened the bottle and let it slow ox for 2 hrs decanted for 1 he and drank over the next two.

The nose was initially a little muted but it eventually opened up showing lots of red currants, raspberry, licorice and hints of blueberry band plums that gained prevalence as the wine opened up. The palate was nicely balance with lost is red fruit, cedar, racing acidity and slightly grippy tannins.

The wine was very good and nice expression of St Emillion, bit the tannins became more grippy and astringent as the wine opened. Nice wine but seems to be in a slightly funky phase right now
