Saturday, December 23, 2017 - The 12 has never been my favorite. Rich with a lot of oak. A bit chunky and unbalanced. Finish again dominated by oak. Not on same level as 13/14
12/24/2017 10:22:00 AM - Thanks for the note. I've only had Kongsgaard's 2012 Chardonnay, which soured me on the winery (perhaps unfairly) - just too much butter and oak, done in a somewhat messy way. I'm assuming from your comment that the 2013 and 2014 are a bit different profile?
12/26/2017 8:49:00 PM - Yes for sure. 13 was significantly better. 14 a step up too but not as good as 13 but didnt take detailed notes. Will report back. May open 14 soon.
Judge is on a different stratosphere fyi. Completely diff profile. Not the smokiness. Great texture, siljy with beautiful flavor.
