90 Points

Saturday, December 23, 2017 - After reading the negative reviews by critics I didn't know what to expect. In my personal opinion, it turned out to be a very good wine. Fully mature by now, mature in colour and in flavour. Opened the cork 9 hours before serving. Quite a smoky nose, first earthy and leathery, slightly leafy, then showing a very distinctive tone of Havana cigar. There is some fruit left, cassis and strawberry. There's also a nice minerality reminding of gravel. On the palate it is medium to fully bodied, fleshy and smooth. The tannins are mellow. Not very long, but medium length. I understand the critics might not have found in it the full qualities that a First Growth can deliver. But it's a good wine, still... Drink now, seems to be at peak and fully mature.
