Likes this wine:

93 Points

Sunday, March 11, 2018 - Sadly, this is my last bottle. Fortunately, it is very consistent with my last note. Simply stated, this is a wonderful Monprivato: medium to full-bodied, still somewhat tannic, but the tannins are very soft and do not detract at all from the enjoyment of the wine. The fruit is ripe -- borderline sweet for Barolo, though the sweetness is most welcome, and far from over-the-top. Mature notes abound: Ancho chile, tobacco, beef broth -- and the combination with the generous, ripe fruit is just brilliant. I like this much better than the '96, and wish I had more of it.
