91 Points

Monday, June 11, 2018 - Spicy, cedary and somewhat chocolatey oak slightly overwhelms the dark fruit at this point. Well-constructed, but needs a little time to integrate the various components; definitely decant and aerate. Has the acidity and backbone consistent with wines that can lay down for 6-10+ years. Am betting this is 92-93+ in a few years if it can pull all the pieces together. Right now, it is, as another reviewer noted, a little one-dimensional. Full disclosure: in a blind tasting I would have pegged it for a petite syrah instead of a mountain cab. As such, serious connoisseurs and/or plonk guzzlers should dismiss this review along with my others....
