Upon opening, we thought the wine was shot. Nose and taste of vinegar. We decided to just leave it alone for a few hours. When we came back to it, we were pleasantly surprised. A dark garnet fading to a nice ruby rim. Notes of saddle leather and strong lead pencil shavings. dark fruits abound. The tannins were still pretty prevelant. 20+ second finish. My first taste of Lafite, and the lead pencil descriptors are dead on. A wonderful bottle, but not worth $400+ IMO.
