Tuesday, May 27, 2008 - Dark brooding red showing no signs of age. Great nose of cedar, chocolate , cherry, and a bit of tobacco leaf/cigar box. Very smooth on the palate. Great balance and structure. Tannins are there but mostly in the background. They become a little more pronounced after a couple of hours making me think that this should do quite well for at least 5- 7 more years. Went great with the steaks. Flavors are similar to the nose. 15+ second finish. Drinking very nicely now but I think will improve as more secondary aromas and flavors emerge. My first Insignia and was very pleased.
