90 Points

Saturday, July 21, 2018 - Said to come from 50 year old vines. PnP in Burg glass and slow ox before dinner for 90 minutes. Semi translucent red color. This benefited a lot from the slow ox as it started leaner and less smooth than where it ended up. Earth and spice abound on both the nose and palate along with mineral and raspberry. Was hard to pass up $36 for an '05 Chambolle with 13 yrs on it. Pretty much a steal but don't see this producer making true head turners. Just a very good, under the radar, value that represents classically styled Burgundy well. Hell, what can you buy in the US with this much character and btl age, for $36??? Just grabbed one so won't find out where this ends up. 90+
