Monday, August 13, 2018 - {screwcap, 12.5%} Lindemans semillon. There's some history there. This is a bit more prosiac, however. It's a bright, quite deep yellow; looking at least its age. The nose is quite intense, and comprises liquid lemon grass suffused with lemon. To the point where there could be Clare riesling in here. The palate of this is dense rather than full-bodied; it has a thick, ripe character. There's a touch of smoky development to the flavours, not so much the classic toast though. More of an ashtray character. Acid isn't especially noticeable, rather there's more of a grapeskin/tannin furriness to the texture. Medium length finish, I guess medium/full-bodied, really, in the context of the style, and a medium length dry finish, quite flavoursome but not especially complex. Might still improve, but I'd suspect more broadening flabbiness will take over before any extra dimensions of flavour become apparent.
