Saturday, February 3, 2018 - 13,5% alcohol, 13 g/l residual sugar, 5,7 g/l acidity. Tasted blind in VV.

Moderately deep golden yellow color. Rich and fruity nose with aromas of ripe golden apples, some waxy tones, a little bit of perfumed floral character and a hint of juicy cantaloupe. The wine is medium-dry, broad and round on the palate with rich, succulent flavors of ripe yellow stone fruits, cantaloupe, some waxy tones, a little bit of overripe nectarine, a hint of almond and a touch of minerality. The wine is moderately high in acidity - not enough to make the wine taste dry, but enough to keep it balanced and lend it nice sense of structure. The off-dry finish is long and fruity with flavors of sweet white peach, some honeydew melon, a little bit of stony minerality and a hint of ripe golden apples.

A very nice, round and balanced Alsatian Pinot Gris that combines effortlessly very fruit-forward, off-dry taste to a balanced, structured and well-proportioned body. A reliable classic that doesn't seem to fail, no matter the vintage. A great wine now, will probably develop a little over short-to-medium term in a cellar. Great value at 14,49€.
