90 Points

Tuesday, October 2, 2018 - Pale yellow, no signs of age whatsoever.
Fresh lime and citrus flavors in the nose. Oef, none of these petrol flavors you sometimes get from Alsace riesling.
Citrus back in the mouth with a fine pure acidity in the finish, yet covered by enough stuffing to make it very agreeable. Some bitterness in the finish.
Very nice wine. Like it a lot.
A bit in doubt on how to drink. A bit bitter in the end to drink as aperitif, yet very citrussy to drink with food. Don't see a warm fish dish work with this. Rather a salad with cold sea food.

9/19/2019 2:08:00 PM - No petrol means no finesse and new world style. The real thing has the great finesse je ne sais quoi of petrol combined with minerality and fruit.
The best and rare part of the best Riesling Grand cru, the few hundreds bottles of the Schoelhammer part of the Schoenebourg Grand Cru are worlds best example of what it can show. Petrol is only good here, count 80-90 EUR for a bottle but it dam beats every clos Saint Hune or Weinbach Faller wine
