2001 Lagier Meredith Syrah

Community Tasting Note

92 Points

Saturday, October 13, 2018 - Dark, opaque garnet, barely any noticeable color evolution; this is the lone vintage where Steve and Carole think there was a tiny bit of brett in their wine, but I can detect none in this bottle, only rich, dark red fruit, lush and vibrant, with oodles of mouthwatering acidity, some little hints of dried herbs, excellent fine/smooth tannins. A very clean style, barely showing its age. Pure and delicious California Syrah.
