Monday, October 8, 2018 - Screwcap. Strong, dark nose of blackcurrant, fennel, and eucalyptus. Palate shows strong, smooth, polished tannin and hard acidity, matched by dark, spicy, herbaceous fruit: blackcurrant, Chambord, nutmeg, bay leaf. Despite the strong acid and tannin, it has a silky mouthfeel and goes down smoothly. Decanted for several hours and showing no signs of deterioration: this is drinking well now, and likely has quite a few years left in it.
