Friday, November 30, 2018 - Almost two years and two months ago we lost our dearly beloved Dachshund Freckle Face Fennoman (see my 3 October 2016 tasting note for Château Léoville Barton 2002). Today our lives were enriched by the advent of Dijkleven Boška (b. 8 October 2018), a wire-haired Dachshund with call sign Otto. The only way to drink to his health, happiness and long life is of course with this wine, dedicated by Graziano Prà to Otto, his beloved Border Collie, “fedele compagno delle mie giornate”. Screwcap, 100% Garganega, volcanic soils, stainless steel only, 13% ABV. A delightful wine, ripe pear and white nuts, soft but fresh, minerally but generous, supple but with gentle bitters, floral finish, good resonance and length. Long may Otto live!
