On the palate, this is dark and concentrated, starting out very fruity and oaky,a bit unbalanced. However, at the two hour slow ox mark, this is starting to sing. This is a serious wine that benefits from food with layers of red and black fruit, smoke, graphite, some delicate Asian spices, strong acidity, vanilla, wood and chalky, slightly bitter tannins. I definitely don’t see the 95 Wine Enthusiast rating right now, but not saying this couldn’t get there with more patience.
