Saturday, January 5, 2019 - Significant uptick in density and concentration here compared to the Beychevelle and the Talbot, with layers of coffee-edged black fruit and coffee and very good length. With air, it picks up some spicy cigar notes and some pyrazine and thins out a little on the earthy finish where the tannins are noticeable. The class shows in the layered fruit on the midpalate but I would have liked a little more oomph through the finish. Not better than the less-pedigreed wines tonight.
