Friday, January 18, 2019 - Nose: Classic Pomerol expressions of plum, damson, black cherry, leather, wood smoke, sweet berries and clay. A very engaging nose. Palate: Surprising vigor in the Black Plum, raspberry, ponzu and tobacco on the palate. Great density that has elements of mocha, toffee and spice in the plum fruit. Finish: Good length yet not exceptionally detailed.

This was a two owner bottle held since the mid 1980s and cellared well. Showed right in the profile of Jeff Leve's 2009 notes. The vintage gave this outstanding life.
