Friday, February 8, 2019 - lot 10.155. decanted 1 hour, consumed over 4; color brilliant, clear & youthful; ebullient aromatics from the outset; svelte palate feel; super refined w/sweet-tart berries & ripe stylish back-end. tannins begin to show at hour 2, but are integrated.
bottle 10 of 24; many have been challengingly & appropriately too young; this is the first to truly evidence significant potential; noted that today is a fruit day long after opening. man, what a good bottle of nebbiolo.
pork chops w/black pepper; cavalo nero & anchovy; crispy roasted yukons
1/18/20 double-decanted to travel; nose quiet (stemware?), solid on palate with wild sour cherry, soil, tannins buffered by accompanying food; a good bottle that seems to want specific handling at this stage, but is seeming to be approaching maturity period. (90)
rapini with garlic, tomatoes & burrata; tagliatelle wi/lamb ragu, mint
