Friday, July 11, 2008 - Jeb Does Minneapolis, Round 2: CDP (Heidi's, Minneapolis): Third time I've tasted this. We searched in vain for the lot number; for what it's worth this bottle was sourced through the "white" retail market in the US, not the gray market. Pretty compelling stuff. Very ripe, but showing no heat. Layers of red fruit, garrigue, roasted meat, and minerals, with a super-long finish that reveals saturated ripe tannin. Great purity of fruit, with no hint of VA or surmaturite. This is actually quite balanced, dare I say elegant, in spite of the powerful fruit.
